Tram Palermo Opening Event

July 14, 2014 - The first of three tram lines planned was inaugurated in Palermo, 4 of the 5 kilometers of line 1 which will connect the city center with Roccella.

Were present many citizens attendent the inauguration, among the Cardinal Archbishop Paolo Romeo and Mayor Leoluca Orlando, who presented the work to the city.


The following team of companies performed the work:

EdS INFRASTRUTTURE - Technological systems

SIS Scpa - Civil Infrastructures,

Bombardier Transportation Italy - tram and signaling technologies,

V. Mosco & Associati and Hyder Consulting, Coordination of Integrated Design System Tram.

 

In particular, EdS INFRASTRUTTURE has realized the power supply, traffic lights, radio systems, the storage facilities will take care of all the maintenance for the next four years. The system used by Eds allow a continuous control of the position of the tram: locally (by the user) and remotely (by staff); In addition there will be displays at bus stops that will indicate the incoming tram and minutes of waiting or who spread messages of any delay or taste. There are also emergency phones at bus stops and SOS phones at docks with cameras that allow control of the stops also in anti pickpocketing.
